Guidelines
1. Format of the quiz
1.1. Participating schools may bring up to 2 student teams with 4 students per team. A school may choose to bring a team of 3, but this team will be at a significant disadvantage. No accommodations will be provided.
1.2. Pen and paper quiz, 1 answer sheet per round/team
1.3. Different colour sheets for each round
1.4. Questions will be read once and displayed on screen
1.5. Teams will be given approximately 15 seconds to answer each question
1.6. Each question will be displayed separately on the screen. When all questions have been read, all 10 questions in the round will be displayed so students can check their answers.
1.7. There will be 10 rounds with 10 questions in each round for a total of 100 questions.
1.8. Each round will contain a mix of genres.
1.9. There will be an 11th category entitled “Books to Movies” in which students will watch a scene from the film and identify the title of the book on which the film is based.
1.10. Two points will be awarded for each correct answer.
1.11. The Master Judge may decide to allocate points for a partially correct answer
1.12. Points for each round will be displayed without a running subtotal. The subtotal will be revealed after the first 5 rounds.
2. Judges
2.1. Judges will be selected from several schools
2.2. The Master Judge will be announced later. The Master Judge assists the other judges and makes final decisions on whether an answer is acceptable.
2.3. There will be a minimum of 5 judges
3. Alternates
3.1. Each team may have one alternate
3.2. The team may determine when and how to use the alternate
